Wednesday Night Parish Supper
Wednesday Evening 6:30-8:00 (until the end of May)
For youth in grades 6 through high school, this is an excellent opportunity for them to continue on their faith formation by breaking bread, playing, and praying with God while learning more about what it means to show Christ's love to each other.
6:00 p.m. -- Parish Supper
6:30-7:00 p.m. -- Intergenerational Activities/Games
7:00-8:00 p.m. -- Youth Group
Wednesdays are an exciting day for all youth. After a parish-wide dinner, there are games and activities for all ages of young people, including those who are young at heart, and it ends with youth group for those in middle and high school.
Bishop Taylor was here in May of 2016; during this visit he confirmed youth and adults who wanted to make a formal commitment to the Episcopal Church.
In addition to participating in the larger youth group programs, we have youth retreats for more extensive instruction on the faith, as well as time for spiritual formation.
The Confirmation Program also includes worship and service components. The confirmands help lead worship services during the Easter season. Additionally, there are various service opportunities throughout the year we hope they will take part in as a chance for them to offer their talents to the community.
The Ascension Children & Youth Ministry is led by Cole McGlynn. For any information or with any questions, feel free to reach out to Cole or e-mail him at email@example.com
Futhermore, throughout the year, we offer other exciting events for various ages, such as Vacation Bible School, a Halloween Shindig, a St. Nick's Lock-in, and Advent Pageant, Caroling, and more!
We also provide possibilities for our young people to give back to and explore their community, from aiding with parish clean-up to putting on our annual fundraiser, which is a talent show in the sping that helps to raise money for summer camp scholarships and youth trips. In the spring of 2015, we were lucky to attend a pilgimage to Selma, Alabama for the 50th Anniversary.
