The Parish Profile is now on the Ascension website. Parishioners who have requested a printed copy will receive it
by the end of July.
The Search Ministry has placed ads in two national publications - Episcopal Life and The Living Church.
They have started screening candidates and will continue to receive applications from the Diocesan Office through the end of August.
The Diocesan deployment officer and Bishop only do a background check on candidates. The Search Ministry analyzes and
evaluates candidates and ultimately recommends a candidate to the Vestry for their approval.
The Search Committee encourages parishioners to talk with Search Committee members to discuss ideas or concerns.

Parishioners are encouraged to read it online or to print their own copy from our website. Those who need a printed copy from the
Search Committee should leave their names with Dottie Obst in the Parish Office.
The Search Committee has placed ads announcing Ascension's position for a full-time rector in two national publications -- Episcopal Life,
the July-August edition, and LivingChurch, July 16 and August 6 editions.
Ann Fritschner from the Diocese has posted our opening for rector in the Deployment booth at convention. Applications must first go to the

will forward names of applicants to the Search Committee after the Bishop gives his approval for each name submitted. Any parishioner who
wishes to submit a name of a potential candidate for the position of rector for Ascension should send the name to Ann Fritschner at the
above email address. The name will be sent to the Search Committee after the Bishop's approval. The Search Committee should receive some
names during the summer and more in August.

We are in the final stages of tabulating the information from the parish surveys. The Strategic Planning Committee,
the Vestry and the Search Committee are studying the data received in the surveys. A summary overview of the information
obtained from the surveys will be provided for the congregation in late February.

We now have 60% of our parish surveys, electronic and paper, returned. Information from surveys received before Friday,
December 9 have been used in the early tabulation of data. All surveys, even those received after Friday, December 9,
will be part of the tabulation used in the development of the Parish Profile. The Search Committee thanks all parishioners
who completed and returned their surveys!

The search committee continues to work on forming the Parsh Survey. Great care and deliberation is being taken to assure a document that is user-friendly and revealing as to the congregations wishes and how we view our ministry.

The parish survey is an important part of the search process and provides an opportunity for each parishioner to give input that will determine a vision for Ascension and the goals of the church in the future. The rector chosen by the Search Committee will be one who can carry out that vision. The Search Committee plans to have the survey ready for parishioners the latter part of October.
