Transforming Lives Through Teaching
 

This is part of our Teaching. This area includes Adult Sunday School, Inquirers classes, and New Programs.

Church of The Ascension is growing disciples of Jesus Christ through the practical application of God's Word to their lives.

The Discipleship Ministry is assigned the purpose of growing mature disciples of Jesus Christ. Their target is the committed members of our church.

Their goal is to lead our members to a deeper spiritual commitment while helping them develop the spiritual habits of the mature Christian. They supervise all Bible studies, discipleship groups, and special church-wide spiritual growth campaigns.

Transforming Lives Through Relationships

This ministry spans across inreach and outreach programs. It includes New member activities, Volunteer Coordination as well as Welcoming and Community Outreach.

Church of The Ascension sees itself as an extended family, offering love, acceptance and hope to everyone – one person at a time.

The Membership Ministry is assigned the purpose of creating strong relationships. It does this by getting people connected to others in the church, while also supporting members during times of transition in their lives. Their target is the congregation. Their business is to care for the flock. They establish and support our “connection” groups, oversee membership classes, welcoming ministries and the major fellowship events within our parish family.

Transforming The Community Through Service

Ascension reaches out into the community in a variety of ways.  We work with the students at Longview Elementary,  support CCM, the Soup Kitchen, and Habitat for Humanity as well as many other national and international groups.  The outreach commission meets monthly,  and new members are welcome.

Transforming Our Lives Through Fellowship

Parish Life includes ECW, Men's Ministries, Connection groups, and other activities and events within the Parish community.

The Parish Life Ministry is assigned the purpose of building and maintaining strong relationships within the parish. It does this by getting people connected to others in the church.

Their business is the care of the flock and the enjoyment of fellowship with one another. They establish and support groups within our parish and outside our parish

Transforming Our Lives Through Care

Pastoral Care includes pastoral needs, bereavement, wellness, and senior needs for our congregation and their families.

Church of The Ascension sees itself as an extended family; offering love, acceptance, and hope to everyone. Not all members of our parish family are physically or mentally able to be with the extended family on a routine basis. They need to know Church of The Ascension continues to care about their well being, whether present or absent from our gatherings. They need to share in the Body and Blood of Christ.

The Pastoral Care Ministry is a growing ministry because a significant portion of our parish is aging. We have many among us who need to be touched. This ministry will connect our absent congregants to Church of The Ascension by caring, sharing, and feeding the body and soul.

Pastoral Care includes pastoral needs, bereavement, wellness, and senior needs for our congregation and their families.

Transforming Lives Through Worship

This area includes Worship and music and describes opportunities for people to assist in these areas such as: lay Readers, Chalicests, Altar Guild, Choir, Handbells, etc.

The heart of our life here at Church of The Ascension is life-changing worship. Our worship is liturgically structured, biblically based, and Spirit-filled.

Transforming the World by Growing Disciples

Youth includes the educational opportunities through Sunday School, Children's Chapel, Youth Ministry, and EYC.

The heart of our life at Church of The Ascension is our children. They are the future of our church and our world. Our children need support for growth in discipleship through love, worship, program, and example.
